For the first time in the history of the tournament there was a special squad for seniors. Obviously it was needed, since the squad was full. Although bowlers over 50 make good scores all the time, there were no scores high enough to make the finals.

Timo Murto and Kari Helander topped 1300, Timo with three pins and Kari with one. Both men rose to the top of the squad with two last games, when the previous leaders dropped with low games. After a low (163) start Murto kept on banging games over 200 and with his last 257-game he passed Helander, who also had a good finish, by two pins.

Three best bowlers received bowling balls presented by Oy Bowling Ab.

- The senior squad is a very good idea, I would not have entered without it, Murto thanked the organizers.

- These old guys do not bowl for toe spot in the finals, this is more a meeting of old friends, he continued.

- We do still bowl high scores at home, Timo said. It is sensible to have this kind of more difficult pattern, so people learn to bowl.

- I started the first game with a wrong ball, switched it and moved five boards inside. Then things started rolling, Murto explained.

- Next year I will come again, if there is a senior squad, Timo sent his regards to Kimmo Lehtonen.
