Robert Andersson almost to top

09.01.2009

Robert Andersson from Pergamon and Sweden was very near to drop Kimmo Lehtonen on the second position in Brunswick Ballmaster Open. Only the last open frame took that chance from “Robban” and gave him the third place after Kimmo and Jason Belmonte.

Andersson started with the games 190, 235, 238 and 201. After that he got the perfect line and shot 278 and 244. His total score today was 1386. He was one of the group which had problems to leave Gothenburg because of the snow storm yesterday. Then he had to change his squad from three a clock to seven in the evening and his score was only 1257.

- Today I bowled better. Yesterday evening I was a little bit tired and my body just did not work normally. Now I felt quite well all the time, “Robban” explained. Today Robert had to use some time to find out the right line to play.
- First four games I played well, but could not get so many strikes. But my spear bowling worked well. In two last games I really find the right line. I played together with Lasse Lintilä and it helped me a lot. It’s always good to have one of the best bowlers on the same lanes and specially a player who knows the center and lanes, Robban told.

At the moment his idea about the cut to top eight is in the air.
- It’s fifty-fifty. But its meaning a lot to reach place in top eight. The players who have to start early in the morning will have a hard day. And in Ballmaster Open it’s never easy to get the place in matches of 16 best players.
