Jesper Agerbo bowled well
The runner up in World Championships 2008, Jesper Agerbo of Denmark, came to Finland and Tali on Thursday at noon. He started Brunswick Ballmaster Open qualification at 15:00 and found the right way to bowl immediately. Jesper Agerbo scored 1354, which is enough for the fifth place after seven squads.
He made a big change in his life after the World Championships and since that he has improved a lot as a bowler.
- I do not work any more; bowling is my day job at the moment. I also think that I have played quite well since last autumn, Jesper told.
- Ten years ago I made a coal to myself, to be one of the best in the world. My rather radical decision to quit daily work was born after WC. I am 28 years old now, and I thought that if I want it, it has to be now.
Jesper Agerbo has grown up as a bowler, but not alone.
- Sami Konsteri from Finland and Martin Larsen from Sweden has helped me a lot; Sami with the bowling equipments and balls, Martin with technique. Of course I also discus lot with our national team coach Christer Backe. He is quite open for the new ideas and easy to talk with, Jesper said.
To Tali Jesper came with quite low expectation.
- It is to be in finals on Sunday. This is the only EBT tournament, where I have never made the cut. And I want to drop that “monkey” down from my shoulder, Jesper laughed.
The second best in the seventh squad was Patricia Luoto, who lives in Finland but represent Germany. She bowled 1337 with 48 pins handicap and earned the eight places at the moment.
