Jarno Blomberg in the lead after first squad

03.01.2009

Jarno Blomberg from team Mainarit Finland is in the lead in Brunswick Ballmaster Open after the first squad.

On Friday he decided to play in the first squad and was happy about it. In two last games he found the right line to bowl and made scores 255 and 279. His total score in six games was 1361.

Jarno Blomberg has taken part in Ballmaster Open around ten times. Last year he managed to get in the matches of best 16 players, but lost already in the first match against his team mate Joonas Jehkinen. Now Blomber had a bit of problems with the lines, but found soon the right one and scored easily the highest result on the field.

- In the beginning the outside of the lane felt really fast. During the practise I did not get any idea in the game. I changed the ball and also bowled more strict line and it worked well in first three games. Then the lane opened and I had more space to play, Blomberg described.

As told, he decided one day earlier to start this Ballmaster Open already in the first squad.

- I just wanted to have this squad more and I will go to play the re-entry in the second squad as planned. This was just the first one, so nobody knows if this score is enough for top 44, Jarno said.

- Now I have idea how to play, but don’t know if it’s still working after the lane maintenance. Lets try, he ended.

The first squad was mainly for the young players under 23 years and there were 55 coming stars in the squad. Rest of the spots were fulfil with older players. Blomberg is in this ace group as also the tournament organizer Kimmo Lehtonen, who is now on the second place with the score 1323.
