In the eighth squad we got another score over 1400. Joonas Huolman scored 1404 with his big ending spurt. Three last games were 758. With those three last games Huolman passed the previous squad leader Petteri Salonen, whose scoring was descendent. Salonen did get a good enough score for the final, 1343. Also Pekka Mäyry passed Salonen in the end with his 1377.

Huolman tried to remember after the game his last appearance in the Ballmaster final. “It must have been about ten years ago, at least seven. I have made about twenty entries since then”, he laughed. “I got advice from Toni (Palermaa) before the squad and during it. It was a big help. I started the squad playing outside line, jumped about seven boards in the second game and kept on climbing higher ever since”, Huolman thanked his club mate. “The pattern is good and demanding. If you bowl well you get big scores, but if you play the lanes wrong, you get nothing”.

Six bowlers from England missed the squad due to snowstorm in Great Britain. The Italian players did not show up with out cancellation.
